- I have an N364 and an i4s. The difference to my ear is the amazingly
- powerful sound of the combinations in the N364 (a new, jazzed-up X-3) and the
- quality of the effects in both units. On the i4s I can layer two sounds. On
- the N364 there are hundreds of combinations that have 8 layers--an incredible
- depth of sound.
- I just got rid of a Kurzweil K2000RS because, next to the Korgs (both
- of them), I thought it sounded anemic and sterile and its effects were some
- of the noisiest I've ever used. The older K1000 and K1200 sounded better.
- Honestly, I've used every kind of synth imaginable for the past thirty
- years and nothing comes close to the sounds of Korg--with the possible
- exception of the basses in an Oberheim Matrix12. But one of the combis in
- the N364 (A22 OB-Analog) is a great simulation of that. The N364 (&N264 and
- Trinity) simply have more complex, deep sounds with the combinations. And
- more is better.
